About Westerdale Community Hall
A Rich History, A Bright Future

Connecting Community Since 1937
Westerdale Community Hall has been a cornerstone of Mountain View County for over 80 years. Located between Olds and Sundre, Alberta, our hall was built in 1937 with volunteer labor, symbolizing the heart and dedication of our community. From humble beginnings as a gathering space, it has grown into a versatile venue that continues to serve as a hub for local events, celebrations, and connections.
Our Story
The story of Westerdale Community Hall is deeply rooted in the values of community, tradition, and resilience. From its early days as a small gathering space to its evolution into a fully equipped venue, the hall has been shaped by the commitment and generosity of local residents. Key milestones include:
-
1937: Construction of the original hall by volunteers.
-
1975-1988: Expansions and upgrades, including a larger kitchen, indoor plumbing, and a raised stage.
-
1989-1997: Outdoor enhancements, such as a playground, ball diamond improvements, and new fencing.
-
2014-Present: Ongoing maintenance to ensure the hall and grounds remain a welcoming space for all.
